The new church of Saint-Honoré-d'Eylau was built in 1896. The building first served as a catechism chapel. In 1974, it became a parish church and got its current name.Architect Paul Marbeau (1843-1907), inspired by the 1889 Universal Exhibition, chose a metal iron structure. This let him combine quick construction, strength, low cost, and plenty of space. He decided to leave the structure visible. The style leans toward neo-Gothic (especially with the white flying buttresses clearly seen under the vault). The facade draws from Romanesque influences. Saint-Honoré-d'Eylau stands out for its airy architecture and open space you can take in at a glance (thanks to slender metal pillars that don't block the view).Light on decorations, the church still boasts a fine collection of Art Deco stained glass windows. After Vatican II, architect André Le Donné made changes, especially to the chancel, and a recent restoration gives it an elegant feel perfect for quiet reflection.
